ENTRIES

Entry packages MUST include:

  2. Entry form (including signed eligibility forms)

Entry and Fees

Coaches must complete the entry form, seeding information and the OFSAA Rules of Behavior Form and send them so that they arrive no later than Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005. Please bring your cheques with you when you Register at the Best Western Hotel on Sunday, March 6th between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Entry Fee: Cheque in the amount $350.00 of payable to “OFSAA Newmarket”.

Banquet Fee: Cheque in the amount of $25.00 per person payable to “OFSAA Newmarket”.

OFSAA Participation Fee: Payable to “OFSAA” - $2.00 per athlete.

Registration

There will be team registration on Sunday, March 6th, 2005 from 2 p.m.– 5 p.m. at The Best Western Hotel
Please check in upon arrival to Newmarket.
All players and coaches need to attend so pictures can be taken.
Players may be asked to present photo ID (drivers licence or school card) to assist in verifing their eligiability .

Banquet

The Championship Banquet will be held Sunday, March 6th, 2005 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Roman Palace. Arrive at least 15 minutes early as proceedings will begin precisely at 7 p.m. All teams are expected to attend. Dress pants, shirt and tie are required. No jeans, running shoes, or caps are allowed.

Coaches Meeting

The coaches meeting is mandatory and will be held Sunday, March 6th, 2005 at 9:30 p.m. at The Best Western Hotel

Souvenirs

Souvenir clothing will be available primarily at the banquet. Clothing will also be available at Sacred Heart on Monday March 7th and at Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday and Wednesday March 8th and 9th.

Team Photos

Team photos will be taken prior to your first game in the morning of Monday, March 7th. Please be in full team uniform at least 30 minutes prior to your first game, ready for team photos.

Fair Play Awards

Coaches, please nominate a player on your team and send in the name with your other info by the March 2nd deadline.

TOURNAMENT DRAW

Confirmation of seeding and game match-ups will be faxed to you and posted on the website by noon Friday, March 4th.

TEAM ADMISSION CONTROL

All team players, managers and coaches will be presented with an identification badge to allow them access to the gyms.
Please have your ID with you at all times for entry into the Banquet and the playing facilities.

GAME OPERATION

Warm-ups: Teams to be ready 20 minutes before their game
Warm-ups: 15 minutes
Basketballs: Teams to provide own basketballs.
Uniforms: Teams are required to bring two sets of uniforms: light and dark
**Top team in draw sheet will be designated as the HOME TEAM and will be expected to wear light colored jerseys.
Benches: HOME team to sit on the bench to the RIGHT of the scorer's table. Half-time rooms: Available at each site

CHEERLEADERS

Cheerleaders will be admitted free if accompanied by a staff supervisor and wearing a uniform.
Cheerleaders MUST stay off the playing floor.

SITE CONVENORS

Should you need anything during the tournament, please contact the site managers. Each team will be assigned a separate dressing room. Valuables MUST be taken to the gym.

DEPORTMENT

OFSAA policy dictates that players' and coaches' behaviour at championships both on and off the court be "appropriate". This policy will be strictly enforced. Coaches are asked to supervise their team members to avoid problems. Thank you for your assistance.
